2025 - 2026 District Leader Elections

Would you like to be part of the 2025-2026 District 27 Leadership Team? Do you know someone who would be a good leader for District 27? If you would like an opportunity to grow in Leadership, Communication & Management Skills, consider running for an elected position and taking on new challenges.

You can nominate yourself or someone else for the following positions that the D27 District Council will be voting on during the District 27 Annual Business Meeting. DEADLINE DATE FOR ALL CANDIDATE APPLICATION SUBMISSIONS:

The District Leadership Committee (DLC) evaluates all candidates for Elected District Leadership Positions and nominates the best candidate(s). The primary role of the DLC is to identify and seek qualified candidates to nominate. After an application has been submitted to the DLC Chair, the application is reviewed and verified by the full DLC Committee.

After all applications have been reviewed by the DLC Committee. The DLC Chair will then schedule an interview with the candidates for each position. The candidates moving forward as DLC NOMINATED CANDIDATES are reported to the District 27 Director, 6 weeks prior to the Annual Business Meeting & District Leader Elections taking place at the 2025 District Conference on TBA.

No later than 4 weeks before the D27 Annual Business Meeting. The District 27 Director will then share the report with the D27 District Council, and the full District 27 Membership Body in writing (via email & the D27 Newsletter). At that time, the District 27 Director will also post the District Leadership Committee’s final report on the District 27 website. This report will give a full listing of ALL DLC Nominated Candidates for 2025-2026 Elected District 27 Leadership Roles.

PLEASE NOTE: Per Protocol 9.0: District Campaigns and Elections anyone who was interviewed by the DLC Committee, but not nominated to move forward as a candidate can run from the floor. However, the names of Floor Candidates cannot be included in the DLC Report submitted to the District 27 Director for distribution to the D27 District Council & posting to the District 27 Toastmasters website. Nor can the names of Floor Candidates be posted on any of District 27 Toastmasters other social media platforms.

FLOOR CANDIDATES:

Floor Candidates must have completed the District Leadership Committee’s vetting process, and must be nominated by a member of the District Council during the Elections portion of the D27 Business Meeting. A qualified Floor Candidate is a candidate that meets the qualifications as outlined in the District Administrative Bylaws, Article VII (e) NOMINATIONS FROM THE FLOOR

An Eligible Floor Candidate is a candidate that has been evaluated/vetted by the District Leadership Committee, as referenced in Protocol 9.0. To be nominated from the floor, candidates must be both qualified and eligible. Floor candidates for District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, and Division Director must sign and submit to the District Director their required forms and declaration of their intent to run from the floor prior to the time of the floor nomination – or must have previously signed and submitted said froms to D27 Disrict Director: Annette Sanks, DTM via email at DD27@D27-TM.ORG by the TBA deadline.

Qualified Floor Candidates must ALSO notify D27 District Director, Annette Sanks, DTM no later than seven (7) days prior to the Annual Business Meeting & Elections TBA of their intent to run from the floor. ALL Nominations made by the DLC are valid. Elections are scheduled for TBA during the Business Meeting portion of the 2025 District Conference.

The positions open to Qualified Floor Candidates for District 27 who have declared their intent to run from the floor by TBA are as follows:

The deadline for ALL Floor Candidates who intend to run for an Elected District Leadership Position (District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director & Division Director) is TBA.  A completed Application, Nominations Form, Candidate Biography, Photograph and District Leader Agreement and Release Statement must be submitted by the above stated deadline to the District Director via email at DD27@D27-TM.ORG. These forms can be found on the District 27 website via this web page (scroll up to access).

At the business meeting, floor candidates must be nominated by a member of the District Council. Floor candidates can only self-nominate if they are a member of the District Council.

District 27 will hold a Candidate’s Showcase for all candidates on TBA. If a Qualified Floor Candidate wants to participate in the Candidate’s Showcase. Said candidate must have informed the The District Director of their intent to run from the floor, and have submitted all of their required documents via email to the District Director by TBA. If this requirement has been met the Qualified Floor Candidate can participate in the Candidate’s Showcase.
